Hair? I don't need no steenkin' hair!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is going to be having an event here in Colorado Springs on April 4th where many heads will be shaved in support of children with cancer and to raise funds for childhood cancer research. This year, I have decided to put my stupid silly amount of hair under the barber's clippers as well.

Weekend Update...

I've made huge changes to my website Fizzle & Pop including a whole new look, the removal of some useless pages and the addition of a gallery showing 51 illustrations that I made for Illustration Friday between January 2006 and July 2007.


Now that I have finished with my taxes for 2007 (don't ask) and no longer have that nagging at my noodle, I'm going to return to creating something... just not entirely sure what yet. It may be a return to Illustration Friday, or it may be more shirt design entries into the Woot derby. Or both. Or neither. All I know is I'm getting the itch to make art and it's about damned time.

For anyone wondering about how it went with my tooth, here's the news. They built it back up and were putting the finishing touches on it when it cracked again and pieces rained into the back of throat. They got most of them out with the sucker tube, but there was one little bit way at the back that I could feel getting ready to slide down and I had no way to tell them. So they went about rebuilding it with a different material, while I concentrated on not swallowing the tooth piece. So, yeah, I swallowed it. At the end of it all, the dentist said the procedure was "a bear" and he wants me to come back in no later than mid April to get the tooth capped. For the next two days my throat felt like it had been raped, but I'm mostly better now. Other than the horrid cold I've had for the last week.

Older, but wiser...

.. but older. Mostly older. I was already pretty damned wise. Now, however, I'm wise to the sneaky ways of pasta.


I broke a molar the night before my birthday while chewing a slightly undercooked bow-tie pasta noodle. I wish I could say I was suing someone over it, or was given my dinner free or something, but I made the pasta myself. Lovely. Now the jagged bit of the tooth scrapes against my tongue when I talk or chew. I'll be going to the dentist in a few hours to see about getting it fixed. 

So, some free advice from the older, wiser me to the younger, less wise you who might be reading... avoid clothing shaped noodles, or, if it can't be avoided, poke the centers with a fork before putting them in your mouth.

Very cool...

I love the movie and this is a nice inside look and discussion of what's needed for a person to really change : Blogus Groundhogus>>The Magic of Friendship.


Currently I'm teetering on the brink of 40 (10 days away and approaching like a freight train) and I've been thinking about a lot of stuff. About what I can do at this point to change my life and my outlook on life. About how when I was a teenager I didn't expect to live past 20 for some reason, and now I'm about to double that. And much more that I don't have time to write about now. 

This was something else I found interesting yesterday : Depression peaks at age 44, according to study.

My point? Meh. I'm too old for points anymore.

I like...

... balancing food on crackers and eating it. Why am I bringing this up? It's lunchtime and I'm currently balancing noodles on crackers and eating them. It's yummy for me and no doubt a thrill for anyone watching, especially when slips happen. You know, when my balance is off because of an inner ear problem or just because I'm a clumsy fat bastard, and all the food just shloops off the side of the cracker and hopefully lands back on the plate instead of in my lap or on the floor. Good times.


I've noticed that although everything tastes great when it sits on a Ritz®, the same is not true for butter flavored Ritz®. Damn near nothing tastes good on those, much less great.

Some people seem to think that I'm funny. I don't really feel that I am. Sometimes I can amuse myself and those around me, but this guy is a very funny guy.

A game worth looking at...



I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like it could be a fair amount of free fun. It reminds me a bit of Super Mario War, another free 2D smash everyone else game (that's amazingly still around considering the use of Nintendo characters) which in turn reminded me of another early, free, bloody game where you controlled a bunny that set about trying to squish other bunnies. The name of that one escapes me.

I look forward to giving Teewars a shot.
